TUNING OF "TEFLON" CLUTCH
SHOES
The first thing to remember:
a good clutch is 50% of more boost.
Some sets of clutch shoes
were cast with an excess of matter.
This excess is visible at the two pawns of restraints of the teflon (pic 1).
If you left it so, after 15 minutes, this matter will going to glue itself
in the clutch bell and to encrust in the teflon, detroying it.
On pic 2, you see on the left a prepared clutch shoe that has 2 hours and on
the right
a clutch shoe non tuned after 15 minutes!
It's better to spend a little time on it, no?
The operation take about
10 minutes, a mini-drill and a mill.
It is necessary to grind the too much matter by the top as on the pic 1.
The best is to come down from 0.3mm under the level of the teflon so that the
head
of the "black rivet" never comes in contact with the clutch bell.
Dawing 3:
Don't forget to put a washer between the clutch shoe and the clutch hub.
This to prevent screws to toofar in the aluminum of the hub and so finish by
blocking
the clutch shoe.
Besides I mill 0.5mm of each side where the screw came. So I am sure that the
clutch shoe are always free to engage and disengage quick and smooth.
